Web stats have become increasingly more important in recent years. For those engaged in Adword/PPC campaigns, tracking clicks and website usage is a must.

The solution to this has been web analytics packages such as Google Analytics or the soon to be launched Microsoft Gatineau. There’s no doubting that Google Analytics has a nice interface to display your website data. However there is an inherent problem with using these free analytics programs provided by such companies as Google. (more…)

I have previously discussed browser compatibility on this blog, however I recently stumbled across a great automatic way of testing multiple browsers. Browsershots enables you to get screenshots of your webpages on a variety of different browsers and operating systems. The advantage of Browsershots is how simple it is to use! (more…)


Browser Backwards Compatability

When creating a website a designer sits down and codes their website, which looks fresh and shiny in IE6… job done! No it’s never that simple is it.

To be a good web designer means creating a website that is accessible and usable in a wide variety of browsers. An absolute minimum for me would be IE6, IE7 and FireFox. In fact, i tend to try and have a look in IE5, IE6, IE7, FireFox, Opera and Safari, as well as exclude css for Netscape 4. (more…)
