If you are involved in web design you will no doubt be aware of the increase in CSS usage in the last few years. This trend is set to continue with the latest browsers incorporating support for CSS 3. Gone are the days when web designer sets out their fresh new design using tables. Although CSS was designed to be an easy way of controlling your page layout, with the differences between browsers this can at times be an awkward journey of hacks and adjustments to get things looking sharp in as many different browsers as possible.

I tend to draw a layout on paper, then work out what container divs I need, then work around browser issues as I come across them. However, Yahoo have launched a smart little Internet app that lets you set out a CSS-driven website layout quickly and easily.

The Yahoo CSS Grids Builder is an ajax based application that takes out the headache of creating a solid CSS layout. The application gives you a WYSIWYG view of the finished product, then when you are happy you can use the source code on your website.

Here is a simple introductory Yahoo YUI Grids CSS tutorial.
